| Poli-Tiki is a one of a kind place. Located on Pennsylvania Avenue on 3rd street in
Southeast, The place looks deceiving as you walk up. The bar is located in an old row house
and logically has three floors. I can't tell you anything about the first two, but the
third is great. Upstairs is the USO Swingroom. They play vintage 40's swing! Naturally this
attracts swing dancers and the place was hoppin' on the Friday night I was there. The dance
floor takes up one end of the floor and most people crowd around it to watch some really
good dancer's cut a rug. The bar is located along the wall with plenty of space for sitting
and relaxing. Poli-Tiki also offers huge red leather sofas and recliner's to lounge on. The
only drawback is their proximity to the floor's two pool tables. Great if your playing,
cramped if your not. The people were on the nice side. There were however a couple of jerks
playing the tables when we arrived. The drinks weren't great, in fact someone ordered a
whiskey sour that was mostly sour. The atmosphere is what rules here. The room is decorated
with WWII memorabilia and posters. The place almost makes you feel like you're back in '45.
